Healthy Snack Recipes | Lockdown Cooking

While we all are stuck at home due to lockdown, at some point we crave for eating somehting except for the regular meals of day. Since, we don't have access to any of the delicious snacks available at restaurants, people have started cooking a variety of dishes at home for satisfying their taste.

'Pani Puri', 'Pav Bhaji', 'Jalebi', 'Rasgulla' etc are some of the Indian dishes which most have us have already cooked at home. And now, people are worried that they might put on some weight during lockdown because of lack of physical activities and eating different snack.

So here we came to your rescue. We brought some recipes which will not compromise either your health or taste.

1. Protein Tikki





Ingredients:
- Chickpeas : 1 cup
- Besan: 1 tbps
- Corriander: 1 tbsp
- Ginger-Garlic paste: 1 tbsp
- Salt: 1/2 tbsp
- Green Chilli (as per taste)
- Oil

Steps:
- Soak Chickpeas overnight.
- Cook soaked Chickpeas in pressure cooker until they are completely cooked.
- Drain excess water and take out Chickpeas in a Bowl
- Now smash them to forma type of dough
- Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, salt and besan to it and mix well
- Make small circular tikkies of it
- Now take a flat surfaced pan, grease it with oil (do not add excess oil as we do not want to deep fry).
- Put the tikkies on it and cook it from both sides

Tikkies are ready. Serve it with curd and ketchup.

2. Moong Dal Chilla



Ingredients:
- Split Moong Dal without Chhilka: 1 Cup
- Cheese
- Chopped Onion
- Chopped Capsicum
- Chopped Tomato
- Fine chopped Green Chilli
- Salt
- Ginger-Garlic paste
- Hing

Steps:
- Grind the dal to form a paste
- Add Ginger-garlic paste, salt, Hing to the paste.
- Take a flat surfaced pan, grease it with oil
- Take one laddle of the paste and spread it evenly on pan in form of round chapati
- Mix cheese, capsicums, onion, tomato, green chilli and salt together.
- Put this mixture on top of the Chilla on pan
- Cook it from both sides

Chilla is ready. Serve it with green sauce.

3. Buttermilk



Ingredients
- Curd : 1/2 cup
- Water: 1 Glass
- Fine chopped Green Chilli
- Ginger-Garlic paste
- Hing
- Curry Leaves: 10

Steps:
- Beat Ginger-garlic paste, curry leaves and Hing together.
- Set this mixture aside until it leaves juice
- Blend Curd and water to form buttermilk
- Add mixture prepared earlier to it
- Keep it in Refrigerator for half an hour
- Serve cold

Usually normal buttermilk can be heavy and make one sleepy. But this recipe ensure that you won't fall asleep after having it. Moreover it is healthier than the normal buttermilk.
