5G Era: How it will affect world around Us.

Gone are the days when we used to have slow 2G networks and there was need of faster network. Then came 3G followed by 4G network. With the introduction if 4G world became united as people became united with video streaming, app stores, programmatic auctions and an entry point into the world of virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence.

As inter-connectivity is increasing day by day, we are on verge if time where 4G would not be enough to fulfill our hunger of speed. So there is need of 5G network which will bring next level of connectivity in the world.

This next level of connectivity could be explained by imagining yourself in in an autonomous vehicle and calling up Amazon Alexa to prep for dinner. A holographic display appears on your dashboard and you set your ingredients based on your diet preference, and they are packed by robot when you reach shop to pick up your ingredients.

This may seem science fiction but with 5G this will be the realistic future. 5G will help to exchange and process data at higher speeds, this will lead to more data exchange thus application load time will increase on desktop and mobile devices.

Nowadays when visitor clicks a link on website, there is a slight delay before a server responds, thus nothing happens for some seconds or milliseconds. Due to this some visitors click away from an article or site, one main reason is ads on website which cause delay. 5G would be 1,000 times faster than 4G, this will lead to 100 times less latency, thus websites will load quicker and users will get seamless ad experience.

At the same time, 5G will let users stream 4K or 8K videos, also there will be higher-resolution ads, users will get ability to personalize content in real time. Increased speed will case problems for programmatic auctions as they will have to keep pace with the speed of 5G.

Major carriers in US such as Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile have already joined race to bring 5G services to consumers’ devices. But upgrading to 5G is not cheap, as it would take $25 billion to deploy 5G just in highly populated areas of US. Also the hardware that can handle 5G still needs to be developed.

Even with all these challenges, companies are already establishing partnerships with network carriers to ensure they are well-positioned for 5G’s emergence. Once 5G becomes readily available, wifi system would become obsolete. As all the companies are in race of 5G technology we can see emergence of 5G by 2019.
