How to Recover Data from Crashed Mac Hard Drive

Last time we discussed on methods to recover data from hard drive in windows machine. There are several software's available for windows OS but they are not available for Mac OS. So for Mac we have few available options that you can use. Here is the list of most recommended software's to recover data from Mac OS.

MiniTool Mac Data Recovery

This data recovery tool is designed specifically for Mac OS X.  It is one of the few free tools available for Mac OSI but it has only 1GB recovery limit.  After consuming it you have to pay for the full version of the software and enjoy seamless data recovery.

The tool has four data recovery options(Undelete Recovery, Damaged Partition Recovery, Lost Partition Recovery, and Digital Media Recovery.) and you can select any option based on recovery you want to perform.

Disk Drill:

Disk Drill is the latest iteration of recovery apps in Mac OS X platform. In a short time span it has quickly been deemed as one of the best. If you want to use basic version then download it right away because its free and will show you the files that you can recover. If you find the files that matter to you then purchase the Pro Edition and move forward with the recovery.

On launching Disk Drill, you will be encountered two options to either Protect or Recover your data. So you will have to choose Recovery to begin your recovery process. After that choose the drive you want to recover data then select either Quick Scan (for deleted files) or Deep Scan (for lost data). After the scan is finished you can select the files you wish to recover.

Conclusion

Hard drive data recovery is possible, but beware that you do not overwrite any data in the disk. This will make data impossible to recover. Initially use free or low cost techniques to check whether data recovery is possible after that move on to other costlier approach
