July 17, 2017

Model 3: First production unit.
Model S which was launched in 2012, changed the fortune of Tesla and the company is now producer of luxurious, environment friendly, sporty electric cars. This was not an easy course for Tesla but now after overcoming all the hurdles Tesla is the most valuable company in US.
After launching Model S and Model X, long awaited $35,000 sedan Model 3 with its first production car was revealed last week in the hands of its first owner none other than Elon Musk. Now in just weeks, the delivery of Model 3 will start after delivering 30 models to its customers at a handover party, later this month.

Model 3 is most affordable car of Tesla till now and will sit below the current Model S luxury car and Model X SUV. As the name suggest its the fourth car since the company opened for business in 2008 and third car under Tesla’s current line-up. Around 500,000 orders for the Model 3 has already been received by Tesla and has pledged to deliver them by 2018, more than double the total number of vehicles that Tesla has sold, till date.

The car is priced from $35,000 in the US (about £28,000) the four-door, five-seat Model 3 is powered by an all-electric powertrain that produces zero emissions and could offer unprecedented levels of efficiency in its class at least 215 miles of range which is greater than its closest competitor, the Chevy Bolt. It will make use of 2170 lithium-ion battery cells engineered in conjunction with Panasonic. Larger battery capacity and performance variants will be available, but that information has not been disclosed.

The Model 3 is rear wheel drive (RWD) with dual motor all-wheel drive (AWD) available as an option. AWD in the Model S costs $5,000 more than its RWD counterpart. Ludicrous mode will be available as an option, too. The car is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in less than 6.0sec and will have hardware for Autopilot technology for semi-autonomous driving. However, Autopilot's convenience features, like self-parking, adaptive cruise control and autonomous lane-changing assists which are optional. Tesla currently charges $3,000 to add the convenience features to the Model S and X.

Tesla will offer other configurations like those available in Model S and Model X. Owners will have all the options for customization and can choose form red, sliver, black, blue, white and now midnight grey color options.

Model 3 is a value pack car and all our eyes are curious to know how Tesla manages to cop-up with the rising car demand.
